Armored Core Last Raven Portable Review

Armored Core Last Raven Portable Front Cover

One of our favorite mech review sites has finally reviewed Armored Core Last Raven Portable and the verdict will surprise you too, Mechadamashii gives Last Raven Portable a 4 out of 10.

For many, Last Raven was the last “real” Armored Core game before the paradigm shift of the next generation entries. It was also a brutally difficult and thoroughly exacting game, expecting nothing short of absolute concentration and a steely set of gaming skills in order for the player to survive.

In this PSP port though, there are problems. Quite serious ones in fact. Despite resolving the input framerate issue via a data install, the entire game is still balanced as it was in the original PlayStation 2 version. Except, this time, you don’t have a DualShock 2 to help you out.

Damn…IDK if I should really get this then.

I have it, and the new control scheme does make things more difficult, especially when fighting more nimble ac’s in the arena, but there’s still some enjoyment to be had

When you say “Some” that doesn’t really help me want to purchase the game. This game would be good if the psp had 2 anologs but that’s really not the case here sadly…

Kinda expected of this if this is on PSP. On ps2 u have to play intense to survive and beat a AC. I never played it on PSP but I would expect the controller to be more difficult and even more harder. Sound challanging and Fun to play!

I’ve got this for PSP and i was really surprised because they added some new parts like they added weapons from all the past armored cores. they added cores, arms, legs, arm weapons, and back weapons. i would rate this a 9 out of 10.

Im still geting the game i dont care if the game got a bad rating i thought that the ps2 version of the game was great and i think that thow the game was hard the remake at least deservs a 5/6.

Cacophanus’s review seems a bit harsh for this remake. I can understand how it can be difficult, seeing as I have the PS2 version of LR and a PSP, but ask yourselves this: was LR meant to be easy? The fact that the game is more challenging due to the physical set up of the PSP makes me want to get it more. Also take into account of the fan base who would be glad to see a remake of one of the games they admire so.

In short, the review could be a bit more generous.

I bought i can tell you the review at the top is true (exempt that we all knew it was going to be very hard) and there is more to it

They did a sloppy porting job there are numerous bugs and glitches (for one instant i fell through the world *floor*) there some random glitch texture every now and then and i found a complete gold pulverizer once (odd i know). i really think that it could be better honestly
